Notes : Genus of up to 500 species. A truly West Australian plant, 'Xanadu' originated and was developed through a process of selection. This outstanding Philodendron bears lush foliage with a dusty pink midrib beneath. It can best be described as a much more compact and more densely foliated Philodendron. Unlike almost all other Philodendron species its foliage and form actually improves as the plant develops. 'Xanadu' should be displayed 'en masse' but allow sufficient space between plants for adequate ventilation. Watering during Winter should be kept to a minimum, whilst in Summer, the plants should be kept moist, but not wet. Use it as a feature plant within the home - it is considered to be an ideal "clean air" plant. It is also an ideal landscape plant in the more temperate areas. The plant will grow to 1 metre in height and width. It prefers semi-shade but can tolerate full sun, provided it is given some protection from the afternoon sun. 'Xanadu' is a heavy feeder and should be liquid fed once a fortnight and once a term with a slow release fertiliser during the growing season.
